Sacramento's Channel 10 News Team

Sacramento's Channel 10 news team, KXTV, the cornerstone of the city's ABC affiliate, views its news presentation a bit differently from many other stations, in that it chooses not to air overly graphic content while also airing more positive news stories. At the same time, it offers up the news in a serious yet personable style.

Evening news

For many years now, the highly successful anchor team of Cristina Mendonsa and Dale Schornack have sat at the evening news desk for KXTV. Mendonsa has two Emmy Awards to her credit, while Schornack has worked many notable stories, such as the Waco standoff, Princess Diana's funeral and Hurricane Andrew. Together, the two have a professional yet friendly appearance as they give the news.

The rest of the team

The other members of the news team are also highly qualified. This summer, Monica Woods, who first went to work for News 10 in 2001, was named Chief Meteorologist for the station. Veteran reporter George Warren, who did time as a news anchor when first hired in 1981, won an Associated Press award for his coverage of "The Good Guys" store hostage crisis that made national headlines. Keba Arnold is one of the newer members of the team, co-anchoring News 10 Good Morning. With the talents of others, such as Dan Elliott and Melissa Crowley, this diverse team works hard to give news a refreshing point of view.

With its unique point of view on delivering the news, Sacramento's Channel 10 news team has made its mark in Northern California. This is especially true with the success of the staff, including talents such as Mendonza and Warren.
