Sacramento's Fox 40 News Team

Sacramento's Fox 40 news team is comprised of dependable, competent and watchable television journalists. Their task is not always easy as they compete with the wealthier local stations which have been around much longer. However, this news team is full of award-winning staff and are establishing themselves as a team to reckon with in any market.

Longevity

Some news team members have been with Fox 40 for more than two decades. Jim Crandell, twice voted Best Local Sportscaster by the Sacramento Bee and also named TV's Best Sportscaster by Sacramento Magazine, started with the station over 20 years ago. During that time, he was sports director for six years and news anchor for another four. He is back to the field to which he is the most committed and anchors sports news. Meanwhile, weekend anchor Teri Cox has been with Fox 40 for over 23 years, while weekend weather reporter Dennis Shanahan, a native of Northern California, has been with the station since 2001.

Nightly news anchors

The daily news broadcasts are currently headed by Stephanie Cruz and Eric Harryman, who is the newest member of the team, having joined Fox 40 in March 2011. Cruz, who was an anchor and producer on Good Day Sacramento for six years before joining Fox 40, is also an author. She wrote a very popular children's book, Delta & Dawn: Mother & Baby Whales' Journey, to commemorate the the whales unexpected and emotional visit to the Sacramento River several years ago.

The News 40 team

It takes more than a few recognizable faces to bring a quality newscast to the residents of Sacramento. This excellent team includes a variety of reporters, such as Lonnie Wong and Bethany Crouch, who all bring expertise to the table. Though Crouch now devotes her time mainly to the AM team, she began as a reporter. Wong has worked in numerous capacities at the station since 1980. Currently, he is a general assignment reporter

The longevity of the News 40 team shows its unity and goes a long way to explain the solidarity of this group of reporters. From veterans like Crandell and Wong to newcomers like Harryman, the hardworking and award-winning team is worthy of its growing viewership.
