The Big Winners and Losers at the Golden Globes
Every year, awards watchers and movie buffs pay close attention to the Golden Globe Awards to find out who comes out on top and who gets left behind. This year is no exception, as several stars find themselves riding high while some others are left disappointed.
The big winner of the night is the French silent film tribute "The Artist," which solidifies its status as an Oscar front runner by picking up three awards, including Best Comedy or Musical. George Clooney stands in good stead with a win for his role in the Hawaiian drama "The Descendants," and the film does itself a favor with a win for Best Drama.
Brad Pitt must feel at least somewhat disappointed after his role in the baseball drama "Moneyball" goes unrecognized, and Seth Rogen's off-color comments do not serve to make him any more popular. Anyone nominated against Meryl Streep is traditionally going to end up a loser at the end of the night.
Now that the Golden Globes are over and done with, it is time to look ahead to the Oscars at the end of February. Can the winners maintain their momentum and bring home the big prize? Are there surprise winners waiting in the wings? Tune in to the big show to find out!
